A Lot More: Doing Good Deeds to Less Fortunate Children

Lets take time out first to Learning. I am so excited to share this with you guys. But before that. I want to give you a brief introduction to this.

As part of Catholic Ministry here in the Philippines (Light of Jesus Ministry). I join in their small group called Caring Group (CG) we call each other CGmates. In our group we are only 6 including our CG Heads. We do bible talks and sharing.

Last June 9, 2012, as part of our culminating activities. We decided to do an outreach program. One of our CGmates organized our activities. We went to Rodriguez Rizal. Near the foot of Mt. Sierra Madre. Each one of us brought small gifts that we can give to the children. There were a lot of surprises, unexpected and trilling experience we had.

My CGmates, friends and coordinator
We rode in a trike called "Habal-Habal" to go to the site.
Going there is not easy. I was thankful that we use a trike to be there. The road was so rough, goes up and down that we even have to stop to cool down the engine of the motorbike.

Going there we cross around 5 rivers

Going there was a real challenge. But when we reach the place. A very heart warming welcome we receive form the native of Dumagat (thats how they call their tribe).

Serving food to the children

After lunch, our coordinator started a short program and gift giving to the kids.

It was so nice to see that these children were very eager to learn despite of their situation. Before we leave the place we had a souvenir photo together with the elders of the Dumagat Tribe.

Going back to the mainland. We decided to walk or trekking. It took us more than 2 hours walking and cross around 16 rivers.

It was a very tiring whole day but it was one of the most special day happened in my life.
